Addiction Services

 

Addiction Services have programs in Barrie, Midland, Collingwood, Orillia and Alliston.
Please see LHIN map to determine if specific programs are offered in your community.

Adult Program
Provides outpatient treatment for those who are concerned about their own or someone else’s use of alcohol, or drug.

Harm reduction philosophy.

Assessment will determine course of treatment options.

Individual as well as group counselling is offered.

Youth Program
Provides early intervention to youth, while assisting in making healthy choices regarding substance use.

Harm reduction philosophy.

Individual counselling, for those 24 years of age and under.

Assessment will determine course of treatment options.

Addictions Services Initiative (ASI) with Ontario Works
To provide outpatient counselling services to individuals whose substance use may be a barrier to employment. The individual is screened through Ontario Works and referred to the ASI program by their Transition Worker.

Gambling Program
Provides outpatient treatment services for those who are concerned about their own or someone else’s gambling behaviour.

Assessment will be completed to ensure appropriate treatment interventions.

Harm reduction philosophy.

Individual counselling is offered.

Methadone Program
Provides outpatient services to individuals who struggle with opiate dependence.

Methadone is an opiate substitution drug that allows a person to function in everyday life.

Weekly appointments with physician and counsellor.

Observed urine screens are required.

Program offered in Barrie and Wasaga Beach only.

Umbrella’s Program
Provides outpatient counselling, to women who are pregnant or are newly parenting. The program supports woman that struggling with their own or someone else’s use.

Harm reduction philosophy.

The focus of treatment will be substance use as well as prenatal and postnatal care.

Community Withdrawal Management Program
Provides outpatient services to individuals seeking support while experiencing mild to moderate withdrawal from alcohol or drugs. Support is also offered to individuals that are completing a physician directed taper from medications.

Assessment will determine treatment options.
