Gloria House is a rent geared to income cooperative living environment located in Barrie.  The home accommodates five individuals experiencing serious mental illness and addictions who are interested in participating in cooperative living.  Each resident is connected to a CMHA program such as Case Management for individual support.   Support provided to residents assists with developing the skills and confidence to eventually move to independent community living.   Residents are required to connect with their individual support staff, attend house meetings and participate fully in the shared running of the home with other residents.

  • People with serious mental illness are vulnerable to homelessness and represent a significant portion of the homeless population.  Reducing homelessness among people with a mental illness has become a central concern for the Canadian Mental Health Association.
