Where there are gaps in services CMHA will advocate and develop proposals where appropriate:

Peer Specialists and Counsellors will help clients link with existing peer support networks

Ongoing recovery, philosophy, harm reduction and Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) training for staff

Seek opportunities for housing for youth and individuals with addiction issues

Develop a proposal to seek funding for the COAST model of providing mobile Crisis Services with Barrie police

Continue to explore housing options through partnership with housing developers, government agencies and landlords

Provide clients with enhanced opportunity for employment

Develop a RSVP clubhouse work program

Employ a Counsellor with knowledge and experience in supported employment for the Case Management Program.

Implementation of a coordinated and integrated Quality Improvement program

Establish a process and outcome evaluation of services

Ensure implementation of Best Practices in all programs/services
Community Development and Partnerships:

Participate on relevant LHIN committees such as the Care Connections initiative

Provide addictions and mental health services expertise, leadership, identifying gaps, and advocating for improved services in systems level local planning initiatives

To increase primary health care access for vulnerable populations/addiction and mental health consumers

Provide addiction and mental health practicum placement leadership to the Barrie Family Practice Teaching Unit

Maintaining and enhancing existing partnerships with community stakeholders and respond to the expressed need of the community
